Water Treatment Plant
The present Water Treatment Plant was constructed
in 1954 and enlarged in 1964. The water plant
has the capacity to treat 8 million gallons of
water per day. The first water treatment plant
for Roxboro was built in 1924.
The main goal of the Water Plant is to provide
an adequate supply of water that is of the highest
quality both for public health and aesthetics.
An additional goal is to continue to make process
changes to meet the upcoming Disinfection By-products
and Trihalomethane rules.
